United

against

Scientology abuse

We are campaigning for an end to
abuse in scientology.

On 25th – 27th October 2024, we met outside Saint Hill to send Scientology a clear message: the abuse must stop.

PEACEFUL PROTEST

Peaceful Protest

In 2024, protestors marched from East Grinstead and gathered at Scientology’s UK headquarters to send them a clear message: the abuse has to stop.

We are not protesting the doctrine or religious beliefs; and we are not there to stop people attending the IAS event.

We simply want to send a message to Scientologists that we are a community of people here to support them if they choose to leave.

public spaces protection order

Protest ban threat

In the summer of 2024, Scientology filed a complaint to Mid-Sussex District Council, requesting a Public Spaces Protection Order be put in place to ban protesting outside their Saint Hill headquarters.

Council observers were present at the protest in October 2024 and gathered evidence, which is currently being reviewed.

We firmly believe a protest ban would result in unfair censorship and restriction of our freedom of speech and right to peaceful assembly. Scientology’s attempt to ban demonstrations is part of their ongoing campaign of harassment against critics and former members and we will continue to fight for our voices to be heard.. all the way to the High Court, if necessary.

press coverage

International Media Attention

Several major newspapers covered our protest last year. The Guardian was the first to break the news in 2023 and the story was one of the top 10 most-read articles that day. Their website reaches 110 million unique readers a month, marking our demonstration as a ‘major flap’ for Scientology leader David MIscavige. We also received coverage in Newsweek and The Express.
