United

against

Scientology abuse

We are campaigning for an end to
abuse in scientology.

This October, we will meet outside Saint Hill to send Scientology a clear message: the abuse must stop.

October 2025 protest

We Come Back

A lot can happen in a year.

Since last time we gathered at the gates of Saint Hill, Scientology tried to ban protesting outside their headquarters.

It failed and despite their best efforts to stop us, we will be returning in October 2025 to send a clear message: the abuse has to stop.

We are not protesting the doctrine or religious beliefs; and we are not there to stop people attending the IAS event.

But we have a zero tolerance for abuse and…

We come back.

Scientology UK headquarters protest
Hedgegate

The hedge is gone!

Scientology had planted 130ft of hedgerow and concealed fencing opposite the entrance to their property on Saint Hill Road.

Since last year, West Sussex Highways have investigated and the obstructions have now been removed, increasing the space available for protestors, passersby and IAS event attendees to safely access the area without encroaching on the public highway.

Illegal construction work

The tent has been erected (illegally)

Despite being issued a Planning Contravention Notice in 2024 and being ordered by the Council to apply for permission before building the giant IAS event marquee this year, Scientology have gone ahead regardless.

This means a giant 45,000 square foot tent is now in place, without the required permits, in order to host their 2025 event.

Saint Hill Planning Application
major redevelopment works

Saint hill planning application

Scientology have, however, submitted a planning application (DM/25/2223) for a major redevelopment of their Saint Hill compound. The proposals include a new entrance, car park and toilet facilities but fail to request permission for the tent itself.

In their application, Scientology’s architects highlight the damage their event and annual tent construction causes to their property, which is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The application is currently open to public consultation, with comments accepted via email to planninginfo@midsussex.gov.uk

press coverage

International Media Attention

Several major newspapers covered our protest last year. The Guardian was the first to break the news in 2023 and the story was one of the top 10 most-read articles that day. Their website reaches 110 million unique readers a month, marking our demonstration as a ‘major flap’ for Scientology leader David MIscavige. We also received coverage in Newsweek and The Express.
